Waste to Energy Plant in Front of a Decision - Citizens are Looking for Answers
A workshop - public forum 'Bikarac - a Green Turning Point' was held at the Arsen House of Arts in Šibenik on 22 October. The topic was the planned waste to energy plant within the Bikarac Waste Management Center. Speakers - experts from Croatia and Slovenia spoke about technical solutions for waste to energy plants, their role in the waste management system, financing options and experiences with their work, and citizens had the opportunity to ask questions. Admission to the workshop - public forum was free of charge for everyone, so it is not surprising that many citizens gathered. The key question was what benefits the possible waste-to-energy plant in Bikarac would bring to the local community, and there was no shortage of lively voices.
